Virat Kohli celebrates Melbourne win

Virat Kohli celebrates Melbourne win: The Indian captain put on display an animated celebration after India secured victory.

During the fifth day of the third Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Melbourne, India captain Virat Kohli was seen putting on display an animated celebration after India registered a 137-run win in the match.

With India 2-1 up in the series, it is certain that they will retain the border-Gavaskar Trophy irrespective of the result in Sydney. Having registered his 11th Test victory outside of India, Kohli has equaled former India captain Sourav Ganguly.

It was expected for the rain to play spoilsport on the morning of Day 5 and so it did. Luckily for India, the weather improved for the play tor resume after a significant delay.

India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah made early inroads on the fifth day, dismissing Australia’s Pat Cummins (63), who had become a roadblock between India and the victory since yesterday.

His bowling partner Ishant Sharma’s short delivery forced Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon to play the pull shot. A top-edge landing in the hands of India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant saw the end of the Australian innings.

Kohli, who was fielding in the slips, ran immediately towards the bowler with full of gusto. The expressions on his face were clearly depicting what this victory meant to his as the captain of the side. He was soon joined by all his teammates, all of whom were seen in a jubilant mood.
