KXIP vs SRH Man of the Match

KXIP vs SRH Man of the Match: Kings XI Punjab batsman was declared the Man of the Match for his match-winning innings against SRH.

During the 22nd match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Mohali, Kings XI Punjab defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets to register their fourth IPL 2019 victory.

Chasing a 151-run target, Punjab duo of Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal (55) stitched a 114-run partnership for the second wicket to aid KXIP seal the chase in the last over. The pair remained unperturbed by the early dismissal of Chris Gayle (16) in the fourth over.

After Kings XI captain Ravichandran Ashwin won the toss and put the visitors in to bat, SRH scored a below par 150-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. SRH opening batsman David Warner registered his 39th IPL half-century as he scored 70* (62) with the help of six fours and a six.

With respective bowling figures of 4-0-30-1, fast bowler Mohammed Shami and Ashwin remained the pick of the bowlers for Punjab.

KXIP vs SRH Man of the Match

Opening the batting alongside Gayle, Rahul played a match-winning knock to see his team through. When wickets started to fall during the business end of the match, Rahul remained calm and resisted the urge to play a false shot. Scoring his 13th IPL half-century, Rahul ended up scoring 71* (53) with the help of seven fours and a six and was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’  for the same.

In what was his third half-century of the season, Rahul’s knack of playing risk-free cricket throughout the season seems to be coming good for him. Contrary to how he played in IPL 2018, Rahul’s approach of taking the game till the end is a whole new nuance to his batting.
