TheSportsRush brings Barcelona’s expected lineup vs Real Sociedad, as Messi and co. aim to maintain their position at the top of the table.
Defending La Liga champions, Barcelona have begin this La Liga season in their trademark style, winning all three starting games in dominating fashion. The Catalan giants sit top of the table so far, and will now proceed to travel to the much-dreaded Anoeta to face Real Sociedad.
Ernesto Valverde’s men are on the back of demolishing Huesca 8-2 in an incredibly one-sided game, as the Camp Nou saw brilliance from its players.
But now, the task will be tougher, with Anoeta not being a great hunting ground for the Blaugranas in recent history. Valverde will be hoping that his side puts up a good show against Sociedad, with the players returning from the international break.
Ernesto Valverde prefers the 4-3-3 formation which he opted for against Huesca at the Camp Nou. Nevertheless, TheSportsRush predicts the starting line-up of Barcelona against Real Sociedad.
Defence:
Marc Andre-Ter Stegen will be the goal-keeper for the Blaugranas, who has developed himself into a world-class keeper while staying at the Camp Nou.
The veteran Gerard Pique will double with Samuel Umtiti in defense, with the latter returning to full strength from a World Cup-winning campaign in Russia for France. Jordi Alba and Nelson Semedo are expected to be Valverde’s preferred full-backs for the night.
Midfield:
The superb trio of Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Philippe Coutinho are expected to control the game in the center of the park. Both Rakitic and Busquets have been brilliant in the Blaugrana colours and with the arrival of Coutinho, the midfield of Barcelona is stronger than ever. On the other hand, new signing Arturo Vidal might also make his debut, but it is unlikely that he will start the game.
