Lacazette goal vs Newcastle: Arsenal forward scores excellent chip to secure 2-0 win

Alexandre Lacazette scored an excellent goal to secure three points for the home side in a significant Premier League clash.

Arsenal have ensured a huge leap to third place in the Premier League table with a win over Newcastle United earlier tonight.

Aaron Ramsey scored the first goal of the night, while Alexandre Lacazette doubled the lead late in the second half.

The Gunners have been brilliant in the last few weeks and continued on their sublime form as they played their first game since the international break ended.

The home side dominated throughout the game and deservedly secured the three points on the night. Newcastle United, meanwhile, remain at 14th in the table.

Alexandre Lacazette goal vs Newcastle:

The Frenchman scored his 13th Premier League goal of the season, and 15th across all competitions as he beat the Newcastle goalkeeper with an excellent finish.

With the goal, Alexandre Lacazette has now contributed in eight of his last 9 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.

Here’s the goal:

Arsenal have now entered the top three and stay two points clear of Tottenham and Manchester United, who are fourth and fifth in the table respectively.

However, the race is far from over as the season goes into the business end. Manchester United have a chance to go third tomorrow night when they face Wolves, while Tottenham will take on Crystal Palace a day later.

Chelsea are three points behind Unai Emery’s side, and will face Brighton on Wednesday night as well.

Arsenal need to continue with similar performances if they want to ensure Champions League place in the next season. The side has been playing in the Europa League for the last two seasons. However, this season, Arsenal have reached the quarterfinals of the tournament, where they face Napoli.
