Unai Emery has said that club is hoping to secure a deal or two in the January transfer market.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that the club is hopeful to secure a deal or two in the January transfer market. The Gunners have been heavily hit by frequent injuries in the recent months.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hector Bellerin have been on the sidelines for the past month. Besides, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck will not be featuring for Arsenal this season after suffering horrific injuries earlier this term.

It has been a tough few weeks for Arsenal who have faced two defeats in the Premier League and were knocked out by their arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup. But, they have progressed well in the Europa League and secured a comfortable win over Blackpool on Saturday to enter the next round in the FA Cup.

Aftermath the victory over Blackpool in the FA Cup, Unai Emery was asked if Arsenal would stay active in the January transfer market. The Gunners are currently short in terms of attacking options and there is less number of center-backs available in the stack right now.

“I  think the club is working for the possibility to take some players who can help us during these next four months.

“Maybe the transfer market can help us with a center-back, but it is not easy because also (Konstantinos) Mavropanos is coming back after injury.

“Also a winger, right or left, one player can help us in this position.”

Reliable Journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted that Arsenal have started the negotiations to bring Denis Suarez to London in the January transfer window. It is not yet not known if they are working on a temporary or permanent deal.

The Spaniard responded to the media asked if Suarez would fit into the current side.

“He was playing in his career, and with me also, as a right or left winger.”

There have been plenty of reports linking Real Madrid shot-stopper Keylor Navas to Arsenal in recent days. The Gunners manager added oil to the fire by saying that he is not sure about Petr Cech’s future who is currently serving as a deputy to Bernd Leno.

Since the current number one is not consistently performing, it is a no-brainer to bring in someone like Navas who has a great record at Real Madrid.

Arsenal will travel to the London Stadium on Saturday to play West Ham in the Premier League.
