Leandro Trossard to Arsenal: The player’s agent has confirmed that Arsenal are interested in signing the left-winger.

Arsenal are reportedly active in the transfer market after the injury to Danny Welbeck. The club’s Head of football, Raul Sanllehi stated that the injury to the English international has ‘altered’ their view of the transfer market, and hinted that club’s transfer business in January.

The club is reportedly searching for defenders in the transfer market after a series of sloppy defensive performances in the past.

Belgian media outlet Sporza has reported that a move for Genk winger Leandro Trossard to Arsenal could be a possibility.

His agent has confirmed the transfer talks, although it hasn’t been decided whether Arsenal would want to do business in January, or wait till summer.

Here’s what his agent had to say when Sporza contacted him:

Leandro Trossard to Arsenal:

The 23-year-old winger’s agent, Josy Comhair clarified that Arsenal have been scouting Trossard since August this season. He also stated that both the North London clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham were interested in the player.

“I contacted representatives from Arsenal and Tottenham. At Spurs, nobody wanted to confirm that Trossard is an option, but Arsenal did.

They told me Leandro has a very interesting profile for them and that they’ve been following him since August.”

He stated that Arsenal are keen on the footballer and are keeping a close eye on him.

“They also added it was a good choice to stay at Genk for another year. They ended the phone call with ‘They are keeping a close eye on him.'”

The agent also insisted that the player is currently happy at Genk and that the club is the ideal breeding ground for his talent.

“Of course money plays a role, we don’t have to worry about that. Leandro understands what he’s missing out on now will come his way multiplied later.

“He wants to get better every day and Genk is the ideal breeding ground for this.”

The Genk manager, Philippe Clement, said earlier that it is highly unlikely that the player would leave in the January transfer window. He also stated that 25 million euros would be too little to let the player go.
