LeBron James tweets for Kyrie Irving, fuels Kyrie to Lakers rumors

LeBron James and the LA Lakers find themselves in a spot of bother going into the final half of the regular season. A loss against the Suns has pushed them into a corner, an ugly little space where self-doubt and anxiety rules an individual(and a team).

With the games coming thick and fast, the Lakers do have a shot at redemption on Monday night, but they are up against a formidable Clippers side.

The Lakers are presently in 10th place, with a 30-33 record. Clippers sit in 7th spot and are a direct rival for those last few playoff berths. Clippers currently have a 36-29 record and are functioning in a better manner than their cross city rivals.

While the Lakers were doing decently well during the early part of the season, they have massively drifted off ever since the injury to LeBron on Christmas day , followed by the infamous Anthony Davis trade saga.

The AD trade saga before the February 7 deadline brought forth the ugly side of NBA, as the Lakers were reportedly ready to offer their entire young core for the services of the Pelicans star.

Ever since things don’t seem to be pretty well-oiled in the Lakers outfit, as the young core feel a little betrayed. LeBron James has gone onto criticise the players and has received criticism from the fans.

Now, with the all important Clippers game upon us, LeBron James finds himself amidst another controversy, for having tweeted something about Kyrie Irving. Kyrie Irving and LeBron James share a vibrant relationship with each other, one that was at its peak during their time in Cleveland.

But Kyrie’s decision to leave Cleveland for ‘greener’ pastures, meant that a successful partnership came to a premature end. Kyrie wanted to get out of LeBron’s shadow and moving franchises seemed to be the only option.

A lot has happened since then, including LeBron leaving Cleveland for LA. The duo have also exchanged calls this season, with Kyrie telling the media that he called up LeBron to apologise to him about his behaviour during their time in Cleveland.

Kyrie admitted that he always wanted things on his terms in Cleveland, something that wasn’t fair to LeBron, who was trying to lead the franchise to glory. With leadership of franchise now resting on his shoulders, Kyrie realised how he was wrong during his time in Cleveland and wanted to apologise to LeBron regarding the same.

“I had to call ‘Bron, and tell him I apologize for being that young player that wanted everything at his fingertips,” Irving explained in January.

“I wanted to be the guy that led us to a championship. I wanted to be the leader. I wanted to be all that.

“I did a poor job of setting an example for these young guys what it’s like to get something out of your teammates.

“Going forward, I want to test these young guys, but I can’t do it publicly. That was a learning experience for me, realizing the magnitude of my voice and what I mean to these guys.” he added.

LeBron accepted the apology and the duo seem to be back on talking terms.

So much so that LeBron has now gone onto tweet about Kyrie, retweeting a video about Kyrie Irving and Rod Strickland being compared to each other, play by play.

Ever since this tweet from LeBron, fans are rallying to let LeBron know that ‘Kyrie to LA’ would be a brilliant move in the summer.

Kyrie Irving could be embracing free agency next season, and from his current mannerisms, isn’t too keen on signing a new deal with the Boston Celtics. With LeBron and the Lakers also looking to sign Anthony Davis next season, things are looking pretty interesting from a trade perspective for the Lakers.

However, currently they would want to sort out their issues and get a crucial win under their belt against the Clippers.

Do you think LeBron can lead a turnaround in LA and help the franchise get out of this tough spot and secure a playoff spot against all odds?
