Leclerc impressed by Hamilton, Vettel, Rosberg and Massa’s praise
Charles Leclerc is the most hyped up F1 driver at the moment with so many top F1 drivers heaping praise on the young Sauber driver.
Vettel and Hamilton went all gaga for the young driver during the Monaco GP and later there was some appreciation from Massa and Rosberg as well.
“It feels amazing,” Leclerc said.
“To have these four drivers speak of me that way, saying positive things, is crazy. It’s always very special to hear these positive things.
“On the other hand I try to not listen to it too much, focus on the job. I still have a lot I can improve on.
“When I’m out of the car, I have very big respect for them and it’s an honour to hear that.
“When I’m in the car, when I have the helmet on, I don’t think about anyone. These things disappear and the drivers that are there are just any drivers.” he added.
Rosberg actually went out to say that Leclerc could actually go onto win the F1 world championship.
“He has the potential to win the championship one day,” said Rosberg.
“The very special drivers, even when they don’t have a good car, they manage to bring across the magic.
“And that’s what Charles has now been doing. One, two races where you just see: ‘OK, this is special’.” he concluded.
Leclerc had a forgetful weekend in Monaco as a front-left brake disc failure caused him to ram into the rear of Hartley’s car.
As a result of the crash he wasn’t able to finish in Monaco but his driving skills have caught the imagination of the F1 world. Do you see Leclerc winning the F1 title sometime in the future?
