The higher ups at FC Barcelona are a slightly worried about their talismanic number ten, Lionel Messi, as the Argentine has been secretly carrying a hamstring injury over the past couple of weeks.

Messi missed a couple of days recently, as he went to witness the birth of his third child. The champion player has been inspirational this season, as Messi has carried Barcelona through some really tough times at the beginning.

After the departure of Neymar, the entire club was facing a crisis and were not sure if Messi himself would commit himself to the club.

But Messi responded in spectacular fashion, as he scored 35 goals and picked up 16 assists in just 43 games for Barcelona this year. He recently put in a typically brilliant performance against Chelsea, as he single handedly eliminated the English champions.

Messi has now been advised to rest and not play a few matches, as the Argentine has picked up a hamstring injury. Messi has been nursing this for a while, and did not tell this until very recently.

As the season comes to a close, Messi will need to be very careful as he does not want to risk missing out on the biggest games of the year. After that, Messi will be eagerly looking forward to the World Cup, as this could very well be his last opportunity to lift the ultimate trophy in world football.

Recently, Messi’s former teammate, Cesc Fabregas, spoke about the time when the Argentine used to bully and prank him during their earlier days.

“I had to defend against him and you know he’s going to the left, and he does, but he still makes me fall to the floor!,” Fabregas told TyC.

“It was on a one versus one exercise with a goalkeeper where one player has to run from the goal to defend while the other attacks.

“I was confident and thought it impossible that this small boy does something; it will not be anything…

“He was a very shy boy, very, very small, skinny and we tried to give him a ball so he would open up and feel comfortable with us.

“But after my experience going against Messi, I changed partners. I did not want to be embarrassed again.”
