Lionel Messi Injury news: Barcelona superstar unavailable till end of International break

Lionel Messi Injury news: Barcelona superstar ruled out to play for Barcelona with calf injury set to return in end of the International break.

Lionel Messi has been missing out of the action due to a calf injury he picked up at a training session. It has been two game-weeks in the new La Liga and Messi is yet to play a minute.

In the first game-week Antoine Griezmann replaced the Argentine International at his position, but Griezmann had to be shifted at the central role after Luis Suarez also got injured against Athletic Bilbao.

It got worse for Barcelona, when Ousmane Dembele was also declared injured with a hamstring injury. Thus, the load came on La Masia, and talents like Carles Perez and Ansu Fati justified the opportunity.

However, Griezmann is the only senior player in attack, who is carrying the goal scoring burden of the team now and it is expected to remain till mid-September, as Messi, according to the AS has been reportedly ruled out till the end of International break.

Ernesto Valverde recently said that he does not want Messi to be rushed with the injury and wants him to full recover and hence it is reported that the Argentine International will miss the next game against Osasuna.

The International break will start after this game-week and will end at 14th September, and all the club competitions will commence on this day and Barcelona will play against Valencia.

Hence, it is being speculated that the Argentine international is being considered to be kept on the sidelines for this match too. Further, Messi is also expected to miss the upcoming matches for Argentina.

Till then, there would be no surprise in giving Carles Perez and Ansu Fati appearances against Osasuna this week, as Barcelona front-line is slim amidst injuries.
