Lionel Messi is having a troubled time with his national squad at the moment. The brilliant Argentine is facing the prospect of a do or die match with Argentina, and if results do not go their way then he could miss out on the World Cup altogether.
The magical number 10 has been his side’s best player in qualifications, but has still not been able to inspire his team to the World Cup. Now his country needs him again as the idea of one of the great national teams missing out on Russia is a terrible one indeed.
At Barcelona, things are not that great either as the club are facing a political crisis. The Barcelona President had mentioned a couple of weeks ago about the possibility of Barcelona playing in some other league.
While it will be a logistical nightmare, the idea is definitely one to think about.
This season, the club is still recovering from the shock of losing Neymar earlier in the summer. The loss of Neymar, plus the inability to get either Verratti or Coutinho was a huge blow to the credibility of a club like Barcelona.
Now we are hearing that Barcelona are looking at Martial from Manchester United as they want to sign the forward in January as part of a huge squad shake up.
We are also hearing that Antoine Greizmann is another player who is very high on Barcelona’s wish list. But it is being said that Messi does not want the exciting forward at the Nou Camp.
Messi is quite happy with Luis Suarez up front, and he feels that Greizmann’s arrival might upset the hierarchy at the club. Now let’s see if Barcelona still push through to get the French forward.
