Lionel Messi: Radamel Falcao makes mammoth claim about Lionel Messi following 2-0 victory over Argentina

Radamel Falcao has made a huge claim about Lionel Messi following 2-0 victory over Argentina.

Radamel Falcao has claimed that Lionel Messi receives unnecessary criticisms because he is the best player in the world.

Argentine succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Colombia in the first game of their Copa America campaign in Brazil. Radamel Falcao played for the most parts of the game, but he was substituted in the second half. Albeit his absence, Colombia were able to double the lead to pile misery on Lionel Messi’s international campaign.

The Monaco striker has defended Lionel Messi despite Argentina’s defeat and has sympathized that he will convert when he is provided with an opportunity in the upcoming games.

“Messi was close to converting us, but he is sure to be given the next matches,” said Falcao

“If he makes a goal, he will be asked for two. If a free-throw mark, they will say that the barrier was not aligned correctly. If Argentina loses, it will be talked about because it is their fault. That is the price you have to pay to be the best in the world.”

Lionel Messi had a poor last month after faltering to Liverpool and Valencia, which dented their hopes of winning the treble with Barcelona. The Argentine was largely disparaged for a poor show with this club and misery just did not end there. He lost the opening game with Argentina in the Copa America against Colombia.

They will have a chance to put things back on track when they take on Paraguay in the next game. Argentina’s next opponents were only able to hold Qatar in their previous game, however, the recent results suggest that the results could go either way.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

Argentina will take on Paraguay in the next game of the Copa America group stages, whereas, Colombia will play Qatar.
