Liverpool are making a rigorous attempt to sign Juventus’ star forward Paulo Dybala for the 2019/20 season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side emerged as a strong force this season. The side is currently at a top of the table (albeit after playing a game more than Manchester City), and defeated Bayern Munich to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Liverpool are aiming for their first ever Premier League title this season and are strong contenders for the title race, alongside Manchester City.

However, the Merseyside club is unwilling to rest as it prepares for the summer transfer market. The team’s front-three consists of players like Salah, Mane and Firmino, but Liverpool look to improve their attack even further.

Tuttosport has reported that Liverpool are aiming for the signing of Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

Paulo Dybala to Liverpool?

The Italian media outlet claims that Liverpool are pushing hard to ‘agree a deal’ for Dybala, and believe that the deal could be completed in the coming weeks.

The Argentine forward emerged as one of the key players for Juventus ever since joining the side in 2015. However, Dybala has fairly struggled with his goalscoring in the current season.

The forward has scored only four goals in 25 Serie A appearances, and 9 across all competition in 35 games. The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Turin has had a significant impact on Dybala’s role in the side.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has often put Dybala on the bench for key games this season – including the second leg against Atletico Madrid, where Ronaldo scored a hat-trick.

There had been reports of a bust-up between Allegri and Dybala earlier this year as well, which worsened the situation for the player at the club. However, the manager reiterated that the duo has made peace.

Apart from the front-three, Liverpool’s attacking options include Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi. The future of both the players remains a doubt at the moment.

Liverpool made attempts to sign Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir last season and came painfully close to the signing as well. However, the French club halted the transfer to go through in the final negotiations.
