Liverpool news: Liverpool fans fume at Leicester city striker as title hopes sink as Vincent Kompany’s late stunner brings Manchester city at the top of the table.
Leicester City were almost successful in holding Manchester City last night but a late strike by Vincent Kompany rescued Pep Guardiola’s side. Thus, continuing the intense Premier league till the final day.
However, few Liverpool fans were furious with Kelechi Iheanacho after he missed an easy goal against his former team in the dying minutes of the game.
The Nigerian International had a great opportunity to level the score after Hamza Choudhary provided him a great ball through midfield. However, the striker missed the net as the ball went wide.
It was an abominable effort by Iheanacho, but lack of game-time this season might be a reason for his lack of technicality last night.
On the other hand, many joked online that the Nigerian striker missed the goal deliberately to let his ex-teammates gain an edge over Liverpool.
However, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that it was a huge moment in the title race and gave a significant advantage to Manchester City.
How Liverpool fans reacted on twitter after the miss
Kelechi Iheanacho helping out his former club, disgraceful. Virtually and open goal and he puts it wide, City talking about the refs helping us, looks like you payed off your former player to not score against you, I hope you lose on the final day and we laugh to the Title #lfc

I’ve watched this over and over again, I am convinced that Kelechi Iheanacho missed this on purpose.
It’s not natural to miss that terribly from that position, especially when so much of the goal was open. #LFC pic.twitter.com/Ko2ojQvgP5
