Liverpool scores vs Everton: The Everton goalkeeper made a mistake as Liverpool snatched three points in the final seconds of the game.
Liverpool beat Everton 1-0 in the season’s first Merseyside derby through an injury-time winner from Divock Origi.
Everton suffered a heartbreak late in the final minute of the game as Jordan Pickford committed a major mistake at the goal to allow Origi to snatch a winner.
With this win, Liverpool stay at 2nd place in the Premier League table and remain two points behind league leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool will now take on Burney in the mid-week game on Wednesday.
Here is the only goal of the game:
Liverpool scores vs Everton:
Trent Alexander-Arnold aimed the cross in the box, but a mishit almost the led the ball to go out of the play. While the Liverpool defender turned around almost immediately in anger at his mishit, Pickford attempted to clear the ball.
However, Pickford’s clearance wasn’t convincing and he instead punched the ball in, allowing Divock Origi an open goal to score the goal.

Jurgen Klopp ran on to the pitch in the aftermath of the goal, as the excitement of a derby win kicked in. Everton, meanwhile, are yet to win a game at Anfield since the turn of the century.

The Twitter reacted to the late drama at Anfield:
Only my club can frustrate me with our front 3 not scoring, waiting 90+6 stoppage time only for Liverpool’s most forgotten man coming on for his first PL appearance to score in the final minute, and my manager running on the pitch to celebrate with Alisson. I love this club.

That goal was for Funes Mori. The man thought he ended Origi's Liverpool career when in fact the man just ended your old club.
Karma.

That was undeserved but it means involvement in the league title race is still a possibility for Liverpool F.C. LFC lacking in inspiration throughout but the race is not always to the swift. #LIVEVE #Origi pic.twitter.com/OGjveNWIXk

Have never witnessed anything quite like that finish in my life. Origi wins it for Liverpool in the 96th minute of the Merseyside Derby with one of the strangest goals you will ever see in football!

What a disaster!
An error from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford means that Marco Silva is denied what would have been an impressive point against Liverpool in his first Merseyside Derby since becoming #EFC manager.pic.twitter.com/7juGxNrkr8
