Here is how Liverpool could lineup against FC Porto in the first leg of the Champions League Quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Liverpool will face FC Porto in the Champions League for the second time on a trot. The Reds were simply too good last year, mauling their opponents 5-0 in the first leg at Estadio do Dragao and Jurgen Klopp had the luxury to field a second string team at Anfield and the game ended in a stalemate.

The head-to-head statistics prove that the English outfit have thorough domination over FC Porto in the history of European competition. However, Jurgen Klopp has demanded his side to respect Porto because of their unbelievable record at their own backyard. Besides, he added on that Porto would be hungry to prove the world wrong.

The Reds proved their mettle against Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena with a 3-1 victory, following a boring 0-0 draw without the key defender Virgil Van Dijk at Anfield. The forwards will be provided much more incentive to press higher up the pitch and score goals on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Porto beat last year semi-finalists AS Roma in the previous round to progress to the next round. Tasting defeat in the first leg, they bounced back well in front of their home crowd to eliminate the Italian side from the competition.

Let us look at the team news and team prediction for the forthcoming clash between Liverpool and Porto on Tuesday.

Team News

Liverpool will have a fully fit side on Tuesday night, but their first choice left-back Andy Robertson will be forced to miss the action after picking up the yellow card against Bayern Munich in the second leg. The Scottish International’s absence will be a huge blow for Jurgen Klopp and Co.

The Reds boss confirmed that Gini Wijnaldum, Joel Matip, and Virgil Van Dijk picked up knocks after the game against Southampton game, but expects the trio to feature on Tuesday night. Whilst, Adam Lallana is nearing full fitness, but the attacking midfielder will miss the game and Joe Gomez needs far more training before taking part in the future.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is unlikely to feature as Klopp has said that he is slowly picking up his pace and the possibility of featuring in the Under23s side is huge than the first team.

On the other hand, Porto have been hit with plenty of injuries and suspension in this crucial period of time. The inclusion of their star defender Alex Telles is yet to be known, whilst Vincent Aboubakar will continue to sit on the sidelines. Felipe, Hector Herrera, and Pepe will miss the clash at Anfield because of suspensions.

PREDICTED LINEUP:

Liverpool: Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil Van Dijk, James Milner, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino.
