Liverpool Transfer News: Bayer Leverkusen demand €100 million from Liverpool for the services of sensational midfielder Kai Havertz.
Liverpool are on a glorious run after several years, and to maintain that momentum Jurgen Klopp is looking to add depth in the squad. Thus, the Mereseyside club have decided to land Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
In response, according to a report by the Bild, the German club have demanded a fee of €100 million, if the Premier league club need his services.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been phenomenal so far with Bayer Leverkusen, as he has already scored 24 times in 88 league games for his current club. To make his achievement look more fancy, no teenager in the Bundesliga has ever scored more than his 17 goals last season.
His exploits has surely aroused the interests of several clubs including Bayern Munich and Barcelona. However, speaking to the Bild, Havertz has expressed that he will not join Bayern Munich as of now.
“I really do not know yet whether FC Bayern is the next and right step for me,” he told Bild.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are yet to make an addition to the senior squad this summer, except for Sepp van den Berg, who would hardly feature in the first team.
The fact that the midfielder is two-footed also makes him all the more attractive a proposition for Liverpool, who at present might feasibly struggle to fit him into an already potent attack.
Although, the price seems to be a concern for Liverpool, as the European Champions don’t wish to over-pay, as the young midfielder is not a necessity, rather a luxury presently.
