AC Milan are looking to make a move for the Croatian Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool are wanting to sell some of their players in the summer transfer window. Few players including Dejan Lovren have not been able to continue long – without any injuries over the past few seasons.

The Croat spent most of this season on the treatment table which constrained him to just 18 appearances in all competitions. Additionally, he has fallen down the pecking order with Joe Gomez and Joel Matip being trusted as partners for Virgil Van Dijk over the 29-year-old defender.

The Merseyside outfit might be tempted to sell if a good offer is placed on the table. According to the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan are targetting Dejan Lovren, as a part of summer overhaul at San Siro.

The board view the former Southampton defender as the perfect player to balance the defence along with Alessio Romagnoli. He is not the only one target, as the board have another defender in their shortlist. Gianluca Mancini, who plies his trade with Atalanta is another centre-back wanted by the Italian giants.

Milan board has started to take shape, from the director role, to the manager. After today’s meeting with Paolo Maldini, Frederic Massara is ready to become the Rossoneri’s next sporting director after his previous experience at Roma.

Massara will sign for AC Milan soon. Gattuso’s replacement will be Marco Giampaolo, the former Sampdoria manager. The club is looking to walk in the right direction and secure Champions League qualification next season.

At the other side, Liverpool are looking to make small changes in their squad and are set to invest in the current lot by handing over new contracts. Dejan Lovren might not be an integral player, but he will not be sold unless they receive a bid worth £20 million.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

It will be an interesting move for Dejan Lovren. The Croat was an important player for them last season, however, the renaissance of Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have changed the events.
