Werner was on a sensational form for RB Leipzig until the football season got suspended because of the Coronavirus spread. The German striker amassed 27 goals and 12 assists in 36 games across all competitions.
Under the management of Julian Nagelsmann, RB Leipzig was contesting for the Bundesliga title and was giving a tough fight to Bayern Munich for the title, in which Werner played a crucial role.
Thus, his attacking prowess attracted Liverpool’s attention. Moreover, the Reds are willing to replace Roberto Firmino with someone who can add up goals to the trio with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
This latest update gives a major boost to Liverpool, as Bayern Munich were also nearing down in the race for Wener and have been efficient in stocking up all German talents lately.
And Werner is the hottest prospect in Germany, he would have been the ideal option to replace Robert Lewandowski, but considering Werner has already reached to the prominence in football, he wouldn’t be willing to play second fiddle to the Polish International.
