Liverpool Transfer news: The Reds have agreed a January deal with Red Bull Salzburg’s Takumi Minamino for £7.25 million after impressing earlier this week.
Liverpool have one of the best sides in the world right now. Their playing XI is a versatile unit however, there is none like Roberto Firmino in their squad. Their number is perhaps the most selfless forward in the world and occupy various positions in the field.

While the Reds have back up options for several other places in the squad, Firmino does not have a direct cover. However, it appears that Liverpool have found their perfect reserve option for the Brazilian number 9 and plan to bring him to the Anfield this January.
Takumi Minamino to Liverpool
According to Paul Joyce of The Times, Liverpool are ready to move for RB Salzburg’s Takumi Minamino while Melissa Reddy from the Independent claims that a deal has already been agreed, His release clause is a mere £7.25 million. The Reds realise that this is far below his true market value and plan to exploit it this January.

Minamino has scored nine goals and 11 assists in 22 appearances for Salzburg this season. He also impressed during RB Salzburg’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool this Saturday. Jurgen Klopp is said to have identified him as an option he would like add to his attacking arsenal.
Minamino can play in multiple attacking positions. He can play wide, behind the striker and as an attacking midfielder. However, he is renowned for his jaw-dropping work-rate alongside sound technical skill. It is in this respect that Minamino is the closest thing to Roberto Firmino in the market and will likely thrive under Klopp.
