Yannick Carrasco to Arsenal

Arsenal have been in a searching spree this month to strengthen their team and increase their chances of finishing in the top four. This transfer window has been a huge dilemma who is struggling to land even one player to the Emirates.

It has been that kind of a window, with frustration pouring out from the fans. On the other hand, the Spaniard is helpless and is trying his best to make some signings to save this season.

The Gunners have been linked with three players in this window throughout – Denis Suarez, Yannick Carrasco, and Ever Banega. But none of the deals looks possible as Unai Emery has already admitted that he does not have the cash to spend in the January transfer market.

English football Kristof Terreur spoke to the Belgian TV about Yannick Carrasco’s move to Arsenal, and the difficult Unai Emery is facing to wrap up a deal in this window.

“Arsenal are looking for a winger, but do not have the money to buy him. If they are considering to take him on loan, he will have to take a pay-cut, because he earns around 180,000 euros a week. It’s a lot of money.

“It’s difficult for him to find a new club when he’s on big wages. I think that will run until the last days of the transfer window, where some clubs become desperate, and maybe Arsenal will be one.

“But at the moment, he has just been offered there, they have not made a proposal, so now there are no negotiations ongoing, but they have been made aware that he is available, and Unai Emery of course knows him from his period in Spain.”

Earlier in an interview, Carrasco’s wife said that they are desperate to leave China to leave closer to friends and family. He also rules out Manchester United of the race because of the amount of rejuvenation they have had under Solskjaer.

“He just wants to leave China, and his people are offering him everywhere. He wants to go to England, he wants to be closer to home.

“But I do not think Manchester United need this type of player right now, if you have Rashford, Lukaku, Lingard, Martial, Sanchez, Mata, so I don’t think he would play over there.”

To sanction a deal in January, Unai Emery has offered Mesut Ozil to Inter Milan and Juventus who looks increasingly unlikely to have a future under the Spaniard. In the post-match press conference, when the Gunners manager was asked about the World Cup winner he said that he picks only deserved players in the team sheet.

If he manages to ship Ozil off, there is every chance of a deal happening in this window. The German would free up huge wages and would yield more than 25 million. If Arsenal do not find a suitor for the midfielder, the possibility of making a permanent deal is very low.
