Luis Suarez Injury Update: Barcelona star ruled out for 4 months

Luis Suarez Injury Update: Barcelona star ruled out to play for 4 months as he left the pitch during a match against Espanyol in La Liga.

Luis Suarez was scheduled to go through his knee surgery, which will obviously keep him out for a significant period of time. His absence is an alarming situation for a club as they lack a like-to-like replacement for him.

In further developments, according to a report by the Mundo Deportivo and later by an official statement by Barcelona, Luis Suarez is reportedly out for four months.

Suarez has been bothered by the damage on the meniscus of his right knee. He last played for Barcelona against Espanyol in La Liga and left the pitch limping.

But it has been revealed that Urugyuan International’s problems with his right knee began two years ago. At the beginning of the 2017/19 season, the Uruguayan was on leave and avoided going through the operating room.

He further took advantages of the breaks in between to rest and managed to finish the season without discomfort and without surgery. The following year the problems reoccured and both in October and November suffered again because of the right knee until it ended up operating in May.

Amidst all of this Barcelona is in problem to add a replacement to Luis Suarez, although, Antoine Griezmann can play in the centre but beyond him, Barcelona has no one to rely on for the next 4 months into the season.

The Catalans can push for Lauroto Martinez amidst the winter transfer window, but it is going to be hard to convince Inter Milan, as the Mexican striker is an integral part of the possible title-winning season.

Thus, it seems difficult for Barcelona to acquire him in the middle of the season. The Catalans now would be compelled to look at the academy profiles to fill the void.
