MLD vs MAL Dream 11Team: Malaysia look to win their last encounter of the league and put the pressure back on Thailand

Maldives Vs Malaysia T20 Best Dream 11 Team

After having been thwarted by Thailand earlier in the tournament, Malaysia knew that the need for a win was paramount for them when they took on Thailand once again yesterday. And they went about doing just that, getting past Thailand with ease by 8 wickets as they went onto put on a rampant run chase to see them maintain their number one standing in the league table.

After bowling first, Malaysia’s bowling performance was flawless and dependable as ever. They not only kept picking up wickets at regular intervals but ensured that no batsman was allowed to free his arms and traverse the boundary at will, something which left Thailand playing catch up all through the match. They managed to put on a mere 127-7 while batting first, something Malaysia had no problem putting down as the third wicket went onto register a 67 run stand which saw the side get past the finishing line.

And up against Maldives, the lowliest ranked of all the three teams in the showpiece tournament organised by ACC, Malaysia will be looking to bring an end to their tournament with another win. However up against a rejuvenated and resurgent Maldives side who managed to pull off the improbable by defeating Thailand in their last match, things won’t be as easy for Malaysia with Maldives showing they are more than capable of pulling off a result when they function as a unit.

Probable Winner

Up against Malaysia, the favourites to win this tournament and without a doubt the finest and most complete batting outfit in the tri-nation series, things are going to be way more tough for Maldives than they were against Thailand. Only discovered ever so recently by the ACC, the small country have shown that they are a promising country, one on the ascendancy after getting the requisite support from India in the cricketing fraternity.

Their win over Thailand was a particularly impressive one as they held their composure to scour past a 131 run target, refusing to collapse even after suffering a double blow in the closing stages of the match. It’s a result that will give them heart against Malaysia today and see them make things hostile for their opponents, a side they were downed by 73 runs in their tournament opener.

Malaysia are clearly the more well versed and experienced unit and they’ll win this one to assure themselves of the title with consummate ease at the end of the day.

Wicket-Keepers for Maldives Vs Malaysia Dream 11

There is only the one wicket-keeper who is worth getting into from all the available options. In Malaysia’s Shafiq Sharif we have a run scorer extradonaire, an opener who has kept coming up with the runs for his outfit on a consistent basis. His 31 run innings against Thailand saw him continue in the same tune and we expect him to show the same incisiveness against Maldives as well.

Batsmen for Maldives Vs Malaysia Dream 11

With a well made 27 which saw him stitch a 67 run match winning partnership, Ahmad Fiaz is the first batter to come into our side and the only bat we have opted for from Malaysia.

Maldives have left us surprised as well with the bat, showing the technique, application and determination needed to succeed at the big stage. We’ve been particularly left amazed by Mohamed Rishwan and Umar Adam and both are going to find a place in our Dream 11 side for this one.

All-Rounders for Maldives Vs Malaysia Dream 11

It’s a duo of players descending in our side from Malaysia’s repertoire with us keeping in mind the 186 the side had peeled off the last time they had faced Maldives. His 57 run innings saw him keep his intent in check in the early part of his innings before eventually opening his arms to amass a bagful of runs courtesy of some expansive strokeplay and Syed Aziz comes in from Malaysia straightaway.

He’s accompanied by Muhamad Syahadat for his regulation ability to rile batsmen up with the ball and be a more than handy contributor with the bat. From Maldives we have Nilathna Cooray representing us after his 40 against Thailand with Ahmed Hassan also finding a place in our line-up.

Bowling Order for Maldives Vs Malaysia Dream 11

Malaysia’s spearheads Anwar Rahman and Mohammad Sham had always nailed down a role in our outfit even before we had reached this segment. Malaysia have been so successful due to their ability to restrict teams within 130 against them and we see them repeating the same prestigious showing against Malaysia as well.

From Maldives in comes Mohamed Mahafooz whose two wicket haul saw him leave Thailand in a frenetic position, incurring a flurry of wickets in their death overs to see Maldives leaving them deterred.

Captain And Vice-Captain

Syed Aziz is our captain for the match while he have opted for opener Shafiq Sharif to be our vice-captain.
