Man City Transfer News: Leroy Sane Manchester City future decided by Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has taken a huge decision over Leroy Sane’s future at Manchester City.

Off late, Leroy Sane has not been starting games for Manchester City. The German International has featured just 29 times on the starting lineup this season, but he has racked up 16 goals and 18 assists as an impact substitute, including the killer against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

With Raheem Sterling preferred in the unorthodox left wing position, it has cast doubts over Leroy Sane’s future. The Schalke product is too good to sit on the bench and feels that he needs regular game time to take his displays to another level in the future. According to Duncan Castles, the Citizens are willing to listen to offers for Leroy Sane in the summer transfer window, with Bayern Munich coy on the forward.

Bayern Munich outbid Manchester City for Leroy Sane in 2016, but Schalke decided against selling to the German giants. Three years on, Bavarians could snap up the youngster after Manchester City grant them to negotiate with the players’ representatives.

Having already turned down a series of new contracts from the Citizens, the German giants believe that a fee of around 100 million should be enough. City’s director of football Txiki Begiristian does not want to risk a situation by running down his contract or lowering his transfer fee as the current deal expires in two years. The report adds on that the club are ready to let him leave for a fruitful amount this summer.

Niko Kovac previously showed interest on Lille attacker, Nicolas Pepe, but the deal is stalled because of the hefty demands from the French outfit and feels that he has a lower ceiling than Sane currently. Although the club is in a pole position to retain the Bundesliga title, representatives of the club believe that the club needs strengthening to eclipse in the Champions League.

Having already signed Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard, Bayern have a chance to prove their superiority in Europe by landing Leroy Sane in the summer window. Those three will not just prove to statement signings, but they have a decade left in them.
