TheSportsRush brings Manchester City vs Newcastle prediction as Pep Guardiola’s side chases Liverpool at the top of the table.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City took off from where they left last season. They scored 6 goals past Huddersfield in only their second match of the season, but dealt with a blow in their third game-week. In a rare occurrence, Manchester City dropped points against a newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Guardiola’s side was taken aback by an attacking approach from Nuno’s Wolves in a 1-1 draw. They returned to winning ways, however, against Newcastle United. After an extra-ordinary campaign last season, Manchester City are favourites to defend the Premier League title, even after a resurgence in Klopp’s Liverpool.

Guardiola’s men will host one of the three newest arrivals in the league, Fulham, who have spent significantly in the transfer market this year. After an emphatic 4-2 win against Burnley, Fulham squandered a 2-0 lead against Brighton and dropped two points at the Falmer Stadium. Jokanovic’s side has scored seven goals in their four league matches so far, but conceded a whopping 11. As Fulham face a fiery City attack, Jokanovic needs to address his defensive issues urgently.

Prediction:

Manchester City last played Fulham in 2013/14 season, which was also the last time Fulham played in the Premier League. Fulham might look at Wolves as an example if they intend to score points off Pep Guadiola’s men. Even then, Nuno’s attacking approach exposed Wolves’ defence on many occasions, but misplaced shots from City’s attackers helped Wolves secure a point from the match.

Justifiably, odds are heavily tilted in the favour of Manchester City. Most odds on City’s win are in the region of 1/10. Fulham’s victory have a staggering 25/1 odds from Ladbrokes. With 17/2, William Hill has the most odds on a draw, which signifies that any result other than a City win is very unlikely.
