Man City vs Chelsea: Predicted line-ups for the Premier League super showdown at the Eithad this weekend between Frank Lampard and Pep Guardiola’s side.

Manchester City and Chelsea started their International break in contrasting fashion. While Frank Lampard’s side fashioned a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, Manchester City were handed a controversial loss to Liverpool at the Anfield.

The two sides will now resume the Premier League with a clash at the noisier side of Manchester on Saturday when Chelsea travel to the Etihad. The 3rd place and 4th place side will clash in what should ideally be a blockbuster match.

Neither sides have had any injuries added to their existing list in the last fortnight. However, Chelsea will still sweat over the fitness of Christian Pulisic. The American winger missed out on International duty due to a hip problem.

Chelsea have won their last 6 Premier League matches and Pulisic has scored in their last 3 matches. Lampard will take a call on him and the rest of his squad after assessing them for injuries. But if fit, Pulisic will surely start for the Blues. Jorginho, who missed the match against Crystal Palace due to accumulating 5 yellow cards should also make a return to the side.

Manchester City on the other hand, still have to sort out their back line. With Guardiola’s growing distrust towards Nicolas Ottamendi, it is likely that he will continue to play Fernandinho as a defender ahead of the Argentine. Benjamin Mendy could also be bought back to the line-up after surprisingly being excluded in their last match.
