Man United News: Former Manchester United manager David Moyes questions the transfer policies followed by the club in recent times.
Manchester United‘s recent transfer record has undoubtedly been poor since a significant period of time. There have been more number of failed signings in comparison to the ones who gained success with the club.
Even after spending massively £700 million since Sir Alex Ferguson left, the Red Devils are finding it difficult to make an impact in the Premier league and Champions league. On contrary, the team has gone even below.
With same opinions, Manchester United’s former manager David Moyes, who took over the Scottish manager in 2013, only to be sacked in less than few months.
In a conversation with the Mirror, Moyes questioned the transfer policy followed by the Red Devils, as the string of wrong signings have made the club struggle.
“For a while it would be difficult to know what direction United have gone in,” he told the Mirror. Whether they have been signing players for marketing, which they are fantastic at, or whether it has been signing players for on the pitch, I am not quite sure.”
“What Manchester United had was great values and class. Manchester United’s values weren’t always to buy the most expensive players but to do it their way which was bringing in the boys from the academy and picking up the best young players.
“Now and again there would be a sprinkling of stardust, like an Eric Cantona, or someone who they signed to make the difference, like Robin van Persie.
“I never thought they were a club who thought it was all about spending the money, but if they needed to, they could.”
Even Moyes saw his struggles at Manchester United, and even failed to land his desired targets, which partially played a part in his demise from the club.
Amidst the criticism, Manchester United have made two promising signings this summer – Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who have showed great performances in the pre-season matches.
