Luke Shaw criticised Man Utd’s performance after the side’s 2-1 victory against Watford as they climbed up to the fourth position in the league.

Manchester United entered the top four of the Premier League, albeit with a game’s advantage over the fifth-placed Arsenal as the side registered a 2-1 win over Watford.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were on target as the Doucoure scored a late goal for Watford.

The side’s performance, however, was underwhelming throughout the game as Watford looked the more threatening side. The visitors outran the Manchester United midfield and created significant issues for the side’s defence, but failed to score.

In the injury time, they also won a free-kick but were unable to convert.

Luke Shaw, who assisted Rashford for the first goal of the game, has now criticised the side’s performance.

Luke Shaw on Man Utd performance:

Shaw was critical of the side’s performance, and stated that Manchester United was ‘lucky’ to win.

“We made it harder with the way we played,” Shaw said.

“I’ll speak the truth and I think the boys will speak the truth that we were awful in the second-half.

“There were times when we weren’t at our best. We were awful in the second half, we were lucky with the result. The most important thing is the three points.”

However, he stated that the side needs to regroup and prepare for the upcoming game against Wolves before the game against Barcelona on April 10.

“We had a few chances but we didn’t take them. We need to get ourselves together again and focus on Wolves. We want to go there and win. I’m always confident when Rashford’s in front of goal, he likes to get in behind, it was a great finish and great composure.

“We need to forget about the game today because we were not at our best at all. We feel really good and confident, and fully trust Ole, and we’re looking forward to working with him for the years to come.”
