Man Utd News: United Star squashes transfer rumors

Man Utd News: United Star squashes transfer rumors amidst speculation that he would leave Old Trafford during this summer’s transfer season.

As with all things United, this summer transfer season has seen its share of gossip mongering over the state of affairs at Old Trafford. From Ed Woodward’s tactics to Paul Pogba’s antics, Manchester United have been in the news an awful lot. There has been a lot of talk about players wanting to leave the Manchester Red for greener pastures. However, United finally have a player that has denied a move away. Instead he has announced that he is happy with the club.

Victor Lindelof has finally opened up on him being linked with a move away to Barcelona. His agent was quoted by  Mundo Deportivo saying that he had received an offer from a great European club and his stay at Old Trafford depended on Manchester United.

He said: “Lindelof is in the orbit of a great European club, but leaving United depends on the English club.”

However,

Lindelof has squashed the rumors in a recent interview.

“I am very, very happy to be a Manchester United player,” Lindelof said at a news conference in Perth on Tuesday.

“I’m really looking forward to this season. I’m very excited for a new season to start.

“That’s my answer, I’m very happy here.

“I always felt like a Manchester United player but last season was a better season for me. I performed better than I did in my first.

“I’m happy that people think that [I’m the best central defender at the club].

“I’m just trying to do my best every day and that’s what I work hard for every day to help the team and the club.”

Lindelof is by no means the best defender in the world. However, his performances last season saw him become a vital component of Solskjaer’s squad. Him staying will provide a relief to the team as they look to bolster their defense this season. If Harry Maguire does come to United, the two could form a potent defensive duo at the back.
