Man Utd team news vs Valencia: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho confirms three players who will start against Valencia.

Manchester United returned to winning ways in the Premier League after a crushing victory over Fulham. The side put four past Claudio Ranieri’s men in a largely one-sided contest, as Romelu Lukaku returned to goalscoring at Old Trafford.

The Belgian forward scored his first goal at Old Trafford in 252 days, having last scored on March 31. Ashley Young, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford were also among the goals, as United now have a positive goal difference in the league.

Any result bar an Everton win in their game against Watford would ensure United will travel to Liverpool as a top-6 side in the league next weekend.

Before the high-profile league fixture, however, Manchester United will play against Valencia in the Champions League group stage. The side has already qualified for the round-of-16, and Jose Mourinho hinted at significant changes in the team.

Man Utd team news vs Valencia:

Jose Mourinho confirmed that Paul Pogba will start in the game against Valencia, stating that the match would be chance for him to prove his quality.

“Paul can be a fantastic player, he has the potential to be a fantastic player. Against Valencia he is going to start and have a fantastic football game to play and to show everybody how good he is,” Mourinho said.

Paul Pogba was benched in the game against Fulham and ended the game as an unused sub, as Mourinho opted to bring Scott McTominay as the final change in the game.

“We need to rest players,” Mourinho told MUTV after the game.”

These last two matches Arsenal and today, today was really strong. “We go to Valencia, there are some that need to rest, some need to play. A question of trust and a question of justice too.”

Mourinho also stated that Sergio Romero and Andreas Pereira will most likely start in the game against Valencia.

“So if I say [Sergio] Romero plays, or he deserves to play, if I say a kid that is working like a tiger and is not playing much like Andreas Pereira is going to have a start, I’m going to make changes in the team because we have qualified,” the manager said.
