Man Utd Transfer news: Bruno Fernandes move called off after Joel Glazer’s intervention. The club will now look at different players.
Manchester United promised a squad overhaul in the summer. However, with more exits than entrants, the club have not fulfilled their promise. Instead, the club is devoid of quality in the side and the injuries to Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay have exposed the lack of depth in the side.

The Red Devils were in the hunt for Erling Haaland. However, the young striker refused to join the club and instead moved to Borussia Dortmund. This forced United to look elsewhere and they had identified, Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes as a likely recruit.
However, according to Goal, the move has now been called off after concern from unpopular club chairman Joel Glazer over the price of the attacking midfielder. The report states that Manchester United offered Sporting €60.5m (£51m/$67m), with €50m (£42.5m/$55.7m) of that guaranteed and the rest in bonuses.
Sporting demand higher; United call deal off
Sporting considered several of the clauses unrealistic, some of which included Fernandes winning the Ballon D’Or. The club then went back on their original asking price of €80m/£68m before Joel Glazer intervened to put an end to the negotiations.
“Who’s buying these players?”
“There’s been far too many inconsistencies.”
“It’s an embarrassment.”
💬 “The downward spiral has been remarkable.”A passionate @rioferdy5 let his feelings known in the studio last night 😳

This will no doubt leave the fans who have been clamouring for a quality signing for months and will do little for the club owners who have for long left their fans displeased with the decisions they make surrounding the club. The club are in desperate need for a creative attacker and in Fernandes they had one of the best playmakers in the world right now.
Alas, this was not meant to be and just as it was all through the summer, the Portuguese will not move to the Premier League; Not with Manchester United at least.
