Man Utd transfer news: Jaap Stam recommends Ole Solskjaer to bolster these 3 positions ahead of summer transfer window.
Manchester United are set to make a squad overhaul after facing a disappointing campaign this season. Thus, Ole Solskjaer has openly confessed about his plan to land new signings this summer.
Therefore, according to a report by Manchester Evening news, Jaap Stam mentioned three position, where the Red Devils should focus at while hiring new players.
The former Dutch International was at the Old Trafford to play a charity match against Bayern Munich on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Manchester United’s historic treble in 1999.
“Well, I think in every position, like up front, in the midfield and in the back four, they can use some extra quality as well,” Stam said following United’s 5-0 win against Bayern Munich.
“You want to have a squad that is competitive to each other as well because everyone needs to push each other basically to get the maximum in achieving something.
“So, I think as a manager and as a club as well you need to have a look at that and after the last couple of seasons and how it’s been going over here, I think it’s good to evaluate everything within the team.”
Ole Solskjaer is vying for desirable prospects this summer but despite negotiating with several players so far, no significant signing has agreed to join the Red Devils yet.
Moreover, the Manchester United manager is probably aware of the requirements of the squad as mentioned by Stam and might have planned in accordance to it ahead of the transfer window.
On the other hand, Manchester United fans were delighted while seeing the 1999 team playing against Bayern Munich as the Red Devils mauled the Bavarians by 5-0. Jaap Stam stood out as Bayern Munich legends failed to go past him even once.
