Man Utd transfer news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been offered the chance to sign PSG striker after failing to land Erling Haaland earlier in the month.
Manchester United have been smarting from losing Erling Haaland to Borussia Dortmund in the winter transfer window. Marcus Rashford has been brilliant for the side that let Romelu Lukaku leave in the summer. However, United lack depth in their attacking and are eager to add to it.

The Red Devils have been offered respite in the shape of Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani according to Manchester Evening News. The PSG star’s future has been the source of constant speculation for a while. Cavani’s contract with the Parisian club expires in the summer.
Cavani to United?
The Uruguayan is unlikely to sign a new contract with the French champions. Which means that he is free to join the Premier League side in the summer. With the injury to Rashford, United would have preferred to have Cavani now but PSG do not want to let go of the forward in January and do not mind seeing him leave on a free.
For United to get Cavani to join them this month, they would have to shell out £30 million, which is a huge amount for someone who only has 6 months left in his career.
The report adds that despite the interest from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, Manchester United remain a possibility. However, there is nothing to suggest that the Red Devils are interested in bringing him in.
Cavani is PSG’s all-time scorer. He has scored 136 Ligue 1 goals in 168 starts during his six-and-a-half-year stint in Paris. However, the arrival of Mauro Icardi has seen him struggle for game time which has left Cavani in search for a new club to get more playing time.
