Man Utd transfer news: Red Devils plan a shock move for former striker Carlos Tevez following the lack of options in the squad upfront.
Following Marcus Rashford’s injury, Manchester United are running thin in their attack. The England international is expected to be out for at least 6 weeks with a stress fracture. With just Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood at their disposal, it has now emerged that Manchester United are lining up a sensational move for former striker Carlos Tevez.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Manchester United could bring in the Argentine on a loan spell at the club until the end of the season. The report adds that United consider the striker a “low cost solution” and would be a temporary fix to their problems.
Carlos Tevez’s history with Manchester United
The controversial striker joined Manchester United in 2008. He formed a formidable partnership with Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo at the front. He then shockingly switched his loyalty to Manchester City 11 years ago.
At Manchester United, the forward two Premier League titles and a Champions league while scoring 34 goals in 99 appearances. With Manchester City, the striker added 3 more trophies and scored 73 times in 148 appearances; a rate of almost one goal in two matches.
He has since plied his trade for Juventus, Shanghai Shenhua and most recently Boca Juniors. By the looks of it, Tevez could come back to the Premier League for one last run. His contract at Boca Juniors will come to an end this season.
It remains to be seen if United will bring him back permanently at the expiration of the loan; unlike the last time where no contract was placed in front of him despite his brilliance with the club under Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign.
“I went to [Manchester] United for two years on loan. In the final year Ferguson told me that they were going to buy me permanently.” he said via The Daily Mirror back in 2018.
“We got to the Champions League final in Rome and I didn’t have any contract on the table, even though they’d spent the whole year telling me that.
“So, I went to City and they complained about it but I never had the option of signing for United so I was free.”
