Julian Brandt divulges he turned down Manchester United for Borussia Dortmund because of Marco Reus.
Julian Brandt imparts that Marco Reus played a huge role in his Borussia Dortmund transfer this summer. The German International agreed to join the German outfit straightaway after the culmination of the Bundesliga season and a late approach from Manchester United proved unsuccessful.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen on reinforcing his attacking midfield area and made a hopeful approach to Bayer Leverkusen. But, the player was enticed over the prospect of playing alongside Marco Reus at Signal Iduna Park.
Brandt said: “On an international journey, Reus came to me for the first time and said that he absolutely wants me to come to Dortmund,”
Reus talked to the young midfielder for about ten minutes: “They realized that it was not the club that sent it off, but Marco did it on his own, which was very authentic. He was definitely a reason, which has also helped that I come to BVB.”
Upon signing for the club, Brandt aspires to end Bayern’s domination and lift the Bundesliga title.
“I have to get there first, get to know the club and the team. Then I will get a feel for what is possible. Marco probably knows better at the moment. It’s an open secret that he wants to win the championship.” Brandt said after signing for Dortmund.
Despite this blow, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recovered in the transfer market drastically. The Red Devils have already signed Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Whereas, deals for Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes is in touching distance, as per the reports.
There are also rumours about the talks between Juventus and Manchester United over Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku swap deal, but the Argentinian is keen to wrestle others breaking into Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

Borussia Dortmund’s impressive summer of moves needs nothing more than names: Schulz, Brandt, Hazard, Hummels. Add a fit Reus off the back of his best Dortmund season and Sancho who just continues to improve with every game. Another memorable title race is on the cards.

Should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer manage to land Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, and Paulo Dybala, the Red Devils could be charging for the Premier League title.
