Man Utd Vs Liverpool VAR Controversy: Marcus Rashford scores after foul on Divock Origi waived off by referee

Man Utd Vs Liverpool VAR Controversy: Marcus Rashford scores after foul on Divock Origi is waived off by referee bringing Red Devils on lead.

Manchester United and Liverpool are in an intense contest in the 9th game-week of the Premier League. Liverpool was deemed as the favourites before the start of the game but now are in a deficit against their arch-rivals.

Manchester United gained the lead against the Reds in the 36th minute, credits goes to Marcus Rashford for the goal but it would surely raise headlines as VAR was involved as Gini Wijnaldum was allegedly fouled in the build-up of the game.

It was a fast-paced attack by the Red Devils after Victor Lindelof brings down Divock Origi. To this, Scott Mctominay starts an attack and finds Daniel James on the right side of the attack.

The Welsh International makes the traditional sprint with the ball and makes a beautiful cross which finds Rashford clear as the ball was unreachable for Joel Matip. The English striker makes no mistake and smashes the ball into the clear net making the score 1-0 before half-time.

Although, the goal was checked by the VAR as Origi’s being brought down made the legitimacy of the goal under doubt but in the end the goal was rewarded to Ole Solskjaer’s side.

This surely made Liverpool fans serious, as Origi was brought down with allegedly malicious intentions. Ironically, three minutes later Sadio Mane scored the goal for the Reds but VAR denied his goal due to handball he made while trapping the ball.

Thus, maintaining Manchester United’s lead. The tensions are soaring high at the Old Trafford as already a controversy has been included in the game. More of action is awaited in the second half as both the teams return to the pitch to end the 90 minutes.
