Paul Pogba stays

Paul Pogba will not be leaving Manchester United in the near future as the club believe that they have a world class player in their hands.

Manchester United vice-chairman Ed Woodward has made it clear that the Red Devils will not be ready to sell Paul Pogba in the winter and summer transfer window as they see him as an integral cog of the team, on and off the pitch, according to the Telegraph.

Since the French International’s arrival at the club, he has struggled to hit top gear under Jose Mourinho, suffering to put in a string of consistent performances.

The former Manchester United manager misused him many times and struggled to find his best position. The Portuguese International did not know the best position for Pogba and overloaded him with defensive duties at times.

Upon his departure, the midfielder has revitalised, netting 2 goals against Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford, and looked impressive against Cardiff City in a 5-1 win too.

When Jose Mourinho was at Old Trafford, he has always been linked away from the Red Devils. There were rumours tumbling that Juventus were ready to shatter their club record to land their former player.

Additionally, it is also understood that Barcelona have been keen admirers of Pogba over the last few years. In the last summer window, the Spanish outfit offered 45 million plus Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina which was quickly turned down by the Red Devils.

They made it clear that the French International is not going anywhere in the last transfer window when they tried to lure him away to Nou Camp.

Juventus is another team who have been showing interest on Pogba, but the deal did not go through as Jose Mourinho demanded Miralem Pjanic in return. Massimilano Allegri was not going to let his midfield star man let go easily.

Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the midfielder too. But, with the standing Financial Fair Play (FFP) problems, they have very less chance to lure him to Parc des Paris in the near future.

Should Ole Gunnar-Solskjaer be appointed as the permanent manager, Manchester United will have a jackpot and could make Pogba stay for a long term. He is finally finding his feet under the Norwegian.

Pogba’s agent Raiola believed that Mourinho started using Paul Pogba as a scapegoat for team’s results, which made him offer the French International to Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain. With things getting changed, it could depend on the man who will be on the hot seat on a permanent basis.

Manchester United board believe that they have an enthralling attack force for the future in their hands with Paul Pogba (25), Anthony Martial (23), Marcus Rashford (21), and Jesse Lingard (26).

Teammate Nemanja Matic pointed out Pogba’s importance in the team,

“He’s very important for us. When he plays at his best, he can make the difference in every game. He played very well [against Huddersfield] but I think that he can do even more.”

“So he can do better? “I think so but slowly, game-by-game, it was very important for him to score some goals. The confidence for the next one is going to be bigger and he needs to know that he still can improve. He needs to know that he’s very important for this team. His quality can make the difference every game and I hope that he will continue like this.

“I think that if we give our best, everyone on the pitch, with his quality or my quality, or Marcus Rashford’s, Jesse Lingard’s quality, can make the difference. But if we are not giving everything that we can, then one player cannot change anything.” Matic said.

Manchester United will be keen to extend the contract of Paul Pogba who has another two years in his contract. But, one thing is for clear, he won’t be sold in the near future by the Red Devils.
