Manchester United Transfer News: Bayern Munich star attracts intense interest from Red Devils

Robert Lewandowski is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United.

Manchester United are planning to revamp the squad in the upcoming transfer window. The Red Devils are willing to sell the players who do not will to play for the club, and obviously clear the deadwoods as well. It would take more than one transfer window to put things back on track, but they can gradually ameliorate by getting the incomings right.

There has often not been many talks about the frontline, thanks to the calamitous defence which has outshone to the disappointment. Marcus Rashford, despite being provided with enough liberty has struggled. The academy graduate has scored just 10 goals in the league this season despite playing through the middle, more often than not.

In order to stiffen the forward line, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly eyeing a move for Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski, say the Kicker. The Polish International wants to sign a new contract at Allianz Arena and the talks will take place after the conclusion of the season this weekend.

If the parties do not agree on to a new contract, it is likely to see him leave the German outfit in the summer window. Manchester United are ready to provide the escape route for the 30-year-old, who will turn 31 before the kick start of the next season. Age might not be on his side, but he has serious prowess in front of the goal and it could prove to be a deal similar to Robin Van Persie.

Should the Red Devils manage to create chances, Lewandowski will guarantee goals as he would not be able to do everything on his own. He has 38 goals and 13 assists in 45 games across all competitions and Bayern will do everything to keep him.

Assuming he turns down an offer extension from his current club, the Red Devils will have to wind off the interest from Paris Saint Germain to land him in the summer.

Here’s how Twitter reacted..

What’s next?

Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain will have to wait until Robert Lewandowski makes his decision. There is no doubt that both the clubs would be prepared to shell out wages to lure him, but United and PSG could look at their long-term planning and turn him down.
