Manchester United want Kroos signing

Manchester United had a busy transfer window. Three signings have already been completed by last season’s Premier League runner ups. The Red Devils signed Stoke City veteran Lee Grant, Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Brazil international Fred. So far, only Fred has been the major signing made by United so far.

In the recent past, the Old Trafford outfit hasn’t been able to answer its rivals Manchester City in terms of spending. The Arabic owned team has been on a crazy spending spree since Pep Guardiola’s arrival.

The results did not disappoint as the former Bayern Munich boss helped in bringing the Premier League back to the Etihad Stadium in what was a dominant season.

The Red Devils have been continuously linked with big names in each and every transfer window that comes to close memory. They did get the likes of Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to arrive, but were unable to get convincing results.

Jose Mourinho has now insisted to the top management at Manchester United to sign Toni Kroos. The German midfielder is one of the best in the world in his trade. The 28 year old signed for the 13 time European champions in 2014 and has gone on to become a huge success.

He contributed to winning three Champions League and one league championship amongst a host of other trophies. Signing the World Cup winner would be a big statement from the Red Devils in their bid to match Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola has been looking for Kroos as well, but believes that his former colleague won’t leave Spain.

Real Madrid have now set an asking price for Toni Kroos worth £107 million. However, Manchester United are not willing to cross a fee of £71 million. It still looks to be seen whether Kroos will actually be a United player at some point or just use the club as a bait to get a better contract at his current pasture.

That has been the case in the last few times United have been linked with major signings- most notably of Sergio Ramos and Antoine Griezmann.

“One thing is what I would like,” he told ESPN FC. “Another thing is what is going to happen.” Asked directly how many new signings he would like Mourinho was quick to reply. He explained: “I would get two more players.” Manchester United start their new Premier League campaign against Leicester on Friday, August 10.
