Maradona Doctor : Buenos Aires Police Raid Luque’s premises as claims of negligence gain fire
Ever since the news of Argentinian Diego Maradona passing away on Wednesday last week broke out, the footballing world has been in mourning. His departure was said to be in lieu of a hattrick, one from which he failed to recover despite the best efforts of the paramedics.
However, ever since then, Maradona’s family and lawyer have hit out at the authorities. Suspecting foul play and negligence into Maradona’s demise, especially by his current doctor Leopoldo Luque, Maradona’s daughters and layers had asked for an investigation to be begun to determine the medications and cure Maradona was undergoing.
Buenos Aires Raid Luque’s Clinic And House
Police in the city of Maradona’s house, Buenos Aires have ever since taken note of the allegations directed towards Luque. Launching an investigation directed at him and the medical authorities responsible for Diego Maradona’s treatment under culpable homicide, the police carried out raids at Leopoldo’s house and clinic on Sunday.
“They are trying to find a scapegoat,” Dr Luque said after images surfaced of the raid on his premises as he denied any wrongdoing. He claimed that he was “absolutely shocked” by the allegations directed his way.
Dr Luque said: “You want to know what I am responsible for? For having loved him, for having taken care of him.”
Luque had been in charge of Maradona’s health ever since the footballer was diagnosed with a blood clot earlier last month. He had claimed Maradona had successfully undergone the operation and was oncourse for a full recovery.
“He has no neurological damage,” Luque said at the time. “We don’t expect any long-lasting effect.
“He is in good spirits. He is very keen to leave, he feels like he is ready to be discharged. We are amazed by his recovery but we have to be cautious.”
Conflicting Reports Emerge After Maradona’s Demise
Further investigations have revealed that the nurse on duty to take care of Maradona was made to lie about several reports. Speaking after Maradona’s heart attack, she said she was coerced by Dr.Luque to file a misleading report about a morning health check-up report on Maradona.
The chef and nurse at Maradona’s house in Tigre have also given statements in which they claim that Luque had engaged in a feisty argument with Maradona six days before his demise.
Maradona’s Daughters And Lawyer Allege Medical Negligence
Meanwhile, Maradona’s daughters, Dalma and Giannia have in their statements recorded to the police said they had suspensions on the string of medicines being served to Maradona by Luque.
Maradona’s lawyer, Angelo Pisani has also meanwhile directed claims of medical negligence by Luque. He along with the footballer’s agent, Matias Morla had both claimed that ambulances arrived at Maradona’s residence half an hour after emergency calls to the hospital.
This fact cannot be overlooked and I am going to ask for an investigation to look into it until the end”, said Morla.
A judge had subsequently issued orders of a search warrant on Lique’s properties to determine whether there were irregularities during his treatment.

His lawyer Pisani has levied allegations on Maradona’s family as well, saying the family had ignored the footballer fowling his brain injury.
“His son Diego Junior would have been there near him had he not had Covid-19, he would have been next to him and would have showered him with affection and love. I don’t think it was like that in Argentina. Diego Junior must know how his father died. We need to clarify. The boy loved his father and now is suffering,” added Maradona’s lawyer.
