Marcelo to Juventus: The Brazilian defender could make a stunning move to Juventus in January, according to reports from Italy.

Real Madrid are going through a rough patch at the moment. The club is currently 7th in La Liga, and faced a stunning 2-1 defeat to Levante at Santiago Bernabeu last weekend.

The Los Blancos suffered the worst goalless run in their history and speculations have begun on Lopetegui’s future at the club. The Spanish manager was appointed at Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane resigned from his post earlier this season.

Various Spanish outlets have reported that Julen Lopetegui could face the sack even before this weekend’s El Clasico. Lopetegui too, has refused to comment on the questions related to sack, insisting that his present focus is on the Champions League game.

Real Madrid may now suffer another setback as their star left-back, Marcelo could be on his way out in January.

Marcelo to Juventus:

According to Italian media outlet Tuttosport, Marcelo is prepared for a move to Juventus in January. The report claims that the Brazilian defender has already told his Real Madrid board about his decision to move.

If the transfer happens, Marcelo would follow Cristiano Ronaldo, who also joined Turin in the summer transfer window. The report states that Juventus are preparing a bid in the region of 50-60 million euros, and would send Alex Sandro on a loan to Premier League following the move.

Interestingly, the Brazilian dismissed reports of leaving Real Madrid weeks ago in an interview with Real Madrid TV. However, the club hadn’t faced the downward slump in form at that time.

“I’m very happy in Madrid,” said Marcelo at that point. “People realize this is my home and I have so many years left in my contract. I’ve read some foolish things, but like I said I’m happy and I’ll stay here until the very end.”

What next?

Real Madrid will return to action in the Champions League as they face Viktoria Plzen. Julen Lopetegui has insisted that he’s motivated and wants to bring the season back on track, while Real Madrid midfielder Isco urged his teammates and fans to move over the disappointment of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.

Real Madrid will return to La Liga with a trip to Camp Nou on October 28.
