Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini is set to have talks with Arsenal for a potential transfer.

Under Unai Emery, Arsenal are set for a massive squad overhaul. The deals for Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Stephan Lichtsteiner are already in place, with the former reportedly ready for a medical at the club. The Gunners are also linked with midfielders like Adrian Rabiot and Jean Michel-Seri. The latest in this list is Marouane Fellaini.

The Belgian midfielder is out of contract this summer at Manchester United and both the parties haven’t agreed on mutual terms for a new deal. While AC Milan have shown interest in signing Fellaini, Arsenal have reportedly entered the race now.

According to Telegraph, Arsenal are set to meet the Belgian’s representatives over a potential deal. Unai Emery wanted to sign the midfielder since his days at helm at Paris Saint Germain, the report says.

Fellaini is currently on a £80,00-a-week wage at Manchester United and wants an improvement on the contract. United, however, have refused to give-in to the Belgian midfielder’s demands.

The Belgian midfielder lost his place in the first team this season after a series of inconsistent performances. The 31-year old played only 22 games for United this season, scoring 5 goals.

He joined the Reds in the summer of 2013 on transfer deadline day for £27.5m. The manager of Manchester United at that point was David Moyes. He has been the key first team player for Moyes, van Gaal and even Mourinho in his first season during his time at Manchester United. However, he hasn’t been popular with the club faithful.

The Belgian has started only five games for Manchester United this season.

However, he has been selected for the Belgian squad as Roberto Martinez chases world cup glory in Russia.
