Matthijs De Ligt: 19-year-old defender’s agent wants De Ligt to join Liverpool over Manchester United amidst transfer speculations.

Matthijs De Ligt is one of the hottest property in the market this summer as the 19-year-old is being targeted with several clubs including the Premier league giants Liverpool and Manchester United.

Manchester United are heavily pursuing for the services of the Dutch International, but the player is yet to make a deal with them and still considering all the prospects.

However, in recent advancements, according to a report by the Daily Mirror, De Ligt’s agent desire to see him with Liverpool over Manchester United.

Although, Liverpool doesn’t seem to be splash massive fee for the 19-year-old defender, but a transfer boost by the player’s agent can arouse the interests of Liverpool’s bosses.

Additionally, presence of Virgil Van Dijk in Anfield will re-unite Dutch defensive duo at the Merseyide club and will be the best center-back pair in the world.

On the other side, Barcelona are also posing heavy interests and Liverpool have to outbid the Spanish giants, in order to hire the services of De Ligt from Ajax.

Thus, it seems that the Reds are trying to avoid such financial competition with the Blaugranas and have not made any advancements because of it.

Moreover, De Ligt’s style of play compliments Barcelona, hence, making Barcelona the front-runners in this pursuit.

Nevertheless, De Ligt is yet to make a final decision amidst several offers, but it seems the player will make further advancements after the conclusion of UEFA Nations league final against Portugal.
