Manchester United ‘confident’ of signing Willian
The ‘Red Devils’ are set to conclude a deal for Chelsea’s Brazilian star, Willian.
Manchester United have been long linked with Brazil’s midfielder, as it looks like the deal will successfully go through this time around. Jose Mourinho is set to bolster the midfield for Manchester United for the next season. United has already completed the signing of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, and Willian is more likely to be the next on the list.

According to Manchester Evening News (MEN), United are ‘confident’ of signing the Brazilian. It is reported that Chelsea needs to free up funds to make way for future signings in this transfer window, and hence are willing to sell Willian. According to the report, the Blues are more willing to let Willian go, than Eden Hazard, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Jose Mourinho has worked with Willian in the past, and he would be the second signing from Chelsea under Jose Mourinho. In the previous summer transfer window, United signed Nemanja Matic, who had also played under Mourinho in his time at Chelsea.
Willian is currently representing Brazil as they aim for World Cup glory in Russia this summer, and appeared in both the games for the team.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have completed two signings this summer. They signed midfielder Fred, who is also a part of the Brazilian squad in the World Cup. United then announced the acquisition of defender Diogo Dalot from Portuguese club FC Porto.
