Matthijs De Ligt and his transfer has been the biggest story this summer. The Star defender has been linked with almost every big club in Europe this summer. It was believed the De Ligt was headed to Barcelona. The Catalonian club and Ajax had even agreed on a transfer fee. However, the Dutch teenager turned down the move at his managers insistence.

His manager demanded that the Catalan club offer him a higher salary than Ajax teammate Kevin De Jong, who signed with them in January. Barcelona’s president attempted to convince the youngster. However, De Ligt remained persistent and vehemently supported his manager.

De Ligt had reportedly received offers from Bayern Munich, PSG and Juventus with PSG being the likeliest destination. However, reports began surfacing that De Ligt had signed with the Italian Giants. His manager has a close relationship with Juventus; A huge factor that helped the Italian Champions pip PSG.

Juventus to announce signing on Monday

Tuttosport are now reporting that Juventus will announce the signing on the 1st of July, the first official day of the summer window. Juventus are close to agreeing a € 75 million move for the teenage sensation with Ajax. De Ligt has reportedly agreed to a 5-year deal. He will earn €12 million-a-year with bonuses.

Juventus will also announce the signing of Adrien Rabiot on the same day. Rabiot will join the Italian champions on a free after running his contact down at PSG. He has agreed to sign a € 7 million-a-year deal plus add-ons for five years.
