Matthijs De Ligt Transfer: Ajax Skipper drops fresh hint on transfer amidst Barcelona and Man Utd interest

Matthijs De Ligt has dropped a huge hint amidst repetitive interest from Manchester United and Barcelona.

Matthijs De Ligt is still undecided on his future as clubs circle him for his signature. The Ajax Skipper holds a high reputation among various European sides and the Dutch outfit look increasingly to sell him for a fee around €70 million in the summer transfer window.

Albeit speaking about the transfer, De Ligt has not turned down the possibility of staying put at Amsterdam. Nevertheless, Barcelona and Manchester United are interested in securing his services along with Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Guillem Balague has said that Barcelona are currently leading the pack amidst interest from various parts of Europe. While Manchester United and Juventus have offered more money, the 19-year-old is focussed on taking his game to another level. He regards development more than money and it is keen on moving to the right club in the summer.

The Spanish Champions have refused to pay up to land him. Mino Raiola is demanding huge compensation, which does not satisfy Barcelona. Additionally, the hefty wage demands is proving to be a huge complication in getting the transfer done for Barcelona.

Speaking to RTL Boulevard, De Ligt said: “I am very excited about what the nearest future may bring me, but I am also calm, I see it as a challenge, that is the most important thing.”

“There are several options, what I do is to see which is the best option, it seems logical that one option is better than the other.”

On the challenges ahead of him, he said: “It could be difficult, but I am a normal Dutchman, I am not very different from the rest, maybe abroad everything will be more intense.”

Here’s how Twitter reacted..

What’s next?
