Wayne Rooney set to return to England with this Premier league club

Wayne Rooney set to return to his home country from MLS to join Derby County, as talks with the Championship clubs are speculated.

Former Manchester United player Wayne Rooney is set to return to England after making a stint at the MLS club DC United, but now Rooney is speculated to make a move back.

In a report published by the Telegraph, as per the SportsBible, Rooney is in talks with Derby United to take a role as a player and a coach of the first team.

The 33-year-old has been plying his trade in America with DC United, but he’s under consideration for a coaching gig alongside Phillip Cocu who was appointed as Derby manager following Frank Lampard’s move to Chelsea.

Mel Morris, the owner of the club wants to have another high profile persona player at the club. As of now, preliminary talks have taken place between the Championship club and Rooney’s agent with further talks planned.

Although, The ex-Everton youngster is contracted to DC United until 2020, but he’s weighing up coaching offers at different clubs to take a new challenge in life.

“I’m taking the steps to get my badges completed and when I finish playing I’ll see what opportunities come up,” he said.

“There’s already offers which have been made, but at the minute I’m still a player and I want to enjoy playing, and then I’ll see which offers are right when I do finish”. he further said.

Rooney coming back to England will certainly be an exciting thing, as the Championship club is hoping to get the Premier league promotion, and the Former English International can provide help in it with his experience.

The talks are yet to be reached at the advanced level, with the offer proposed by Derby, Rooney might try his luck.
