These days where ever you go the talk is as much about the cricketing skills as about the fitness level of the players. The benchmark that has been recently set by the Indian team management is the Yo-Yo test.

After Ambati Rayudu, Sanju Samson and Mohammed Shami failed the Yo-Yo test, they made it to the headlines. However, it has now been reported that Shami and Samson have passed with flying colours and will be available for selection. Rayudu is also preparing for another test and God willing, he will get through it.

Following a huge uproar on the test, a BCCI office bearer said “The idea of Yo-Yo tests is not an overnight thing. It’s been designed keeping all relevant officials in the loop. It’s not a one-off either. If there are ideas from former cricketers to improve upon it, then fine,” BCCI office –bearer had said.

Well, one would expect that Himachal player Mayank Dagar backs his fitness with cricketing ability and breaks through in the Indian team, sooner than later.
