Time and again we have stressed on the fact that the Mercedes social media team deserves a hike for the kind of work it has been doing on Twitter.
With a 2 week break between grand prix, the F1 fraternity has been looking for something to cling onto during this dull period and thanks to the unofficial fan accounts of Mercedes and McLaren, there has been some F1 related entertainment on social media.
The conversation started on Pirelli’s post, which stated the tyre choices of all drivers for the upcoming United States Grand Prix.

The McLaren duo had opted for a weird tyre selection, dramatically different from all other teams. With the soft, supersoft and ultrasoft tyres available for the grand prix weekend, most of the teams had opted for a good number of ultrasofts and only a few softs.
However, the McLaren drivers went in for a lot of softs and only a few ultrasofts, raising questions from a Mercedes fan account.
@MclarenP20 you alright there, you seem to have an odd selection?

The McLaren fan account then jumped into, and the ride began.
Yh mate, were perfectly good here. We’re just doing the 1000IQ alternate strategy

Can’t wait to see you guys in our mirrors as we take a perfect 1-2

A Bottas wingman dig followed.
Pff,wont happen. You’d just tell valteri to hold station behind us

Mercedes retaliated with a dig aimed at Vandoorne and his inability to enter Q2.
Does Stoffel remember what Q2 looks like?

Q2? What’s the point. We’re saving the engine so we can be in super party mode during the race

The conversation went on and on and that is when the Mercedes social media team spotted it and decided to swoop in and have a little fun of their own.
