Mercedes hilariously respond to Daniel Ricciardo’s new Renault look
Daniel Ricciardo is well and truly a Renault man now and would be hoping that his first season with his new team proves to be a lucky one for everyone involved.
Lucky because, well, Renault haven’t really been in the mix for podium finishes and will need some massive aerodynamic or engine related lift in order to break that Mercedes-Ferrari-Red Bull domination.
Ricciardo made the bold move to switch to Renault, as his future plans were not aligning well with Red Bull. Max Verstappen enjoyed greater power at the team than Ricciardo(at least that is what the perception was) and hence the Australian wanted a change of scenery.
Now, Ricciardo posted his first photo in a Renault suit today and fans have been going gaga over it ever since.

The impact has been so much so that Mercedes fans too have admitted to shifting their allegiance to Renault because of Ricciardo.
One fan today let Mercedes know that despite being loyal to them for a long time, she was now jumping ship. She wanted to support Renault for Ricciardo.
@MercedesAMGF1 thanks for the memories 💙 you’ve been absolutely phenomenal 😫 but it’s time for me to move on 😢 it’s not you, it’s @danielricciardo 😍💛 i’m officially 100% part of the @RenaultF1Team fam now 🥺👊🏽

Renault then came up with a very relevant question, asking the fan and Mercedes if Ricciardo has ever driven for them.
Daniel used to drive for the arrows?!?!

Mercedes then came up with a hilarious ‘Verstappen related’ answer.
No, but Verstappen did back in the day.
